Seventh Grade Volleyball Season Ends
The semi-finals of the Shelbyville IESA Volleyball Regionals was the end of the line for the Pana Junior High School seventh grade volleyball team Tuesday night, Mar. 2.
After beating Teutopolis in the first match of the evening, they fell to Vandalia in the semi-finals.
Against Teutopolis, Pana won in two games, 25-17, 25-13.
Sydney Lett had 10 service points in the match and 8 of them were aces. Phoebe Hrabak had 9 service points with 3 aces. Taylor Rochkes, Tessa Rodman and Ariel Herbord each served 3 points.
Sarah Parkison made 4 kills and Erin Holthaus, Herbord and Grace Gatons had 3 kills each and Rochkes, 2.
Rochkes and Hrabak had 4 assists apiece and Herbord got 4 digs. Lett followed with 3.
Vandalia finished off the Panthers in the nightcap, 18-25, 10-25.
Both Taylor Rochkes and Phoebe Hrabak served 3 points each and Tessa Rodman and Ariel Herbord got 2 apiece. Herbord made 3 kills and Sydney Lett, 2. Lett also had 8 digs and Hrabak and Kyra Bearup made 4 each.
The seventh grade team finishes the season with a 10-13 record.
The eighth grade regionals are next week, also in Shelbyville.
